The Vibrant Flower
I have had the privilege of traveling and serving the Lord alongside great people, both men and women. One of those people, who I met about 17 years ago in Tunisia, is Gail Stathis. We met for the first time then although we had been in communication via email prior to that. Every time I think of our first time meeting I am reminded not to take things at face value. There were many thoughts that went through my mind after our meeting because this meeting was an introductory one as I was going to be serving alongside her in North Africa and then in Greece through EME Ministries, the organization she co-founded.
When I think of my bouquet of flowers, I see her as that flower that gets put into the pack a bit closed but soon begins to blossom with such vibrance, joy and energy.
I have served with Pastor Gail in different roles and one of the things I have appreciated about her is her heart for prayer and how she has always encouraged me to pray. I love her passion and joy for the Kingdom and the King. I have learned the power of love, forgiveness, perseverance, patience as I have watched her go through life and in her dealings with me. I am grateful that she has allowed me to be myself and through her leadership I am here serving Jesus in what I believe He has called me to be and do. I love how even though I am not always “smiling” she has encouraged me over and over again to smile. I have learned to appreciate her for “making room” for me at her “table” to serve with my gifts in my own way.
Pastor Gail Stathis, thank you for being my pastor and for your patience with me. Thank you for your love and heart for the Lord Jesus and His plans and purposes for the nations.
